The Polytechnic Central Library was established in the same year with the parent institution to serve to the achievement of the vision. The central library is main objectives was to select, acquire material, organized, preserve and disseminate\u00a0 information to the polytechnic community for decision making, learning, teaching and research.<\/p>

Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic was handed over to the Federal Government of Nigeria b Kebbi State Government in 2006. The Federal Executive Council, at its meeting of Wednesday, 14th<\/sup> March 2007 accepted and approved the take-over. The institution is now called Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi consisting of the following colleges:<\/p>

  1. College of Administration<\/li>
  2. College of Engineering<\/li>
  3. College of Environmental Studies<\/li>
  4. College of Science and Technology<\/li><\/ol>

    The library has a total of 31,060 volumes of textbooks, 159 assorted journals and pamphlets were serial collection containing current information to serve the learning, teaching and research to the users of polytechnic library.<\/p>

    The library had 6 professionals, 14 para professional and 8 supporting staff. Exclusive of the outsource supporting staff attached to library.<\/p>

    The library has an e-books in its collection complimented by procures e-books from science direct website (www.sciencedirect.com<\/a>) which are being access by staff of the institututions.<\/p>

    E-Library with fifty six (56) computers has been established in the library with internet connectivity. A 36 KVA Generator has been provided to service the whole library with adequate power supply.<\/p>
